Play Safe Near Water this Summer

Interior Health is reminding residents across the region to take extra precautions while enjoying recreational water activities this weekend and throughout the summer.

 

With many areas having experienced flooding and higher water levels, there can be hidden risks. These may include fast-moving water, ingesting contaminated floodwater and/or coming into contact with floating or underwater debris. 

 

The following precautions should be taken:

Stage One Watering Restrictions in Effect

Stage One watering restrictions are now in effect from April 15th to October 15th or until further notice.

 

1. Residential properties may water only on the calendar days corresponding with their odd or even street addresses.

2. Properties 2.0 acres or more in the ALR, with a District irrigation connection and appropriate flow restrictors are currently exempt from the above.

Highway 3A between Keremeos and Highway 97 Junction Open for Single Lane Alternating Traffic

Highway 3A is now re-opened, but traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic only.  Please check the DriveBC website at http://www.drivebc.ca/ for updates.
