Christmas Ice Rink Schedule - Free Kids and Family Skates Dec 23rd to Jan 8th

The Similkameen Recreation Centre is proud to present the Kids on Ice Christmas Ice Rink Schedule.  These skates are free for kids and family skates are free for everyone.  The schedule runs from December 23rd to January 8th, with the regular Ice Rink schedule also in effect.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Similkameen Recreation Centre Ice Rink will open on December 3rd for the Official Ice Opener Free Skate from 1 to 3:30 PM.  Additional information can be found by clicking on the links below:

Keremeos Landfill Reducing Days Starting December

Starting December to the end of February, the Keremeos Landfill will have reduced days of operation.


The Keremeos Landfill will be closed statutory holidays and Boxing Day.


The Keremeos Landfill will be closed all Wednesdays from December to the end of February.  The Landfill will be open Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm and will be open on Sunday Dec 24th, Christmas Eve, and Dec 31st, New Year’s Eve.

Open Burning Now Permitted in Kamloops Fire Centre and Village of Keremeos

Category 2 and Category 3 open fires are now permitted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, due to a decreased wildfire risk in the region.


The rescinding of these prohibitions applies to all BC Parks, Crown Lands and private lands in the Kamloops Fire Centre, as well as the Village of Keremeos municipal boundaries.

Public Works Items for Free Removal

The Village Public Works Department has sold a number of items at public auction.  There are a few items remaining for removal at no cost and a complete list is available online at


To inquire about any unsold items, please contact the Village Office at (250) 499-2711 and arrange to meet with Public Works staff between 9 AM and 3 PM for removal of items at your own expense.
