As of 12:00pm (noon), Friday, July 12, 2024, Category 1 campfires will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Center (which includes Keremeos) to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety. The campfire prohibition will remain in effect until noon on Oct, 11, 2024 or until the orders are rescinded. The campfire ban is in addition to Category 2 and Category 3 open fires as defined in the Wildfire Regulations.
