Chief Administrative Officer
The village operates on what is called the “one employee” system. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is council’s only employee and acts as the link between council and the rest of the village staff. The CAO position is responsible for the overall management of village operations; ensuring policies, programs and other directions of council are implemented and advising council on the operation and affairs of the village.
The CAO directs and manages the daily administration of the Village and, in this capacity, ensures the delivery of high quality services in a timely, responsible and cost-effective manner. In addition, the CAO is responsible for the personnel function of the Village and maintains staff communication. She is also responsible for the oversight of contracted services. Acting as Approving Officer, the CAO oversees all subdivision development and related planning matters.
The CAO is a statutory position under the Community Charter and the incumbent is appointed by Council.
